Victorian Branch Secretary, The Australian Workers' Union
Ben Davis is the AWU Victorian Branch Secretary, appointed and then elected in 2013. He was previously elected as an AWU Victorian Vice President and member of the National Executive in 2009 after a 11-year stint as the AWU’s Organiser for Central Victoria.
Ben is a non-executive director at Prime Super as well as a member of their Audit & Risk and Claims committees.
Ben is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a graduate of the company directors Ben is a Fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program.
As a committed union official he has represented workers through many workplace closures including Vestas Portland, Alcoa Point Henry and Phillip Morris. Many AWU members work in industries that see the transition as a threat to their jobs, as well as an opportunity.
