David Prins
Director, Etrog Consulting
David Prins is a highly experienced consultant and project manager, with extensive international consulting experience and expertise in legal, regulatory and commercial issues. He has a keen understanding and twenty-two years of practical experience spanning four continents, specialising in the application of effective regulation and competition in electricity and gas industries.
David has provided advice to public and private sector clients – industry participants, governments, regulators and consumer organisations. Much of his most recent work has involved advice on smart metering in energy and water industries, and on energy pricing and margins.
He is a member of the Australian Energy Regulator’s Consumer Challenge Panel, where his role is to help ensure that decisions on energy network costs across Australia incorporate the interests of consumers.
David has particular interest in electricity and gas retailing (strategy and pricing), consumer engagement in energy industries, and metering and data services (especially smart metering and smart grid applications).
