Australian utility Western Power has selected Hansen Technologies to improve the management and operations of its advanced metering infrastructure.
The energy distributor is advancing its capabilities in the smart energy era by adopting Hansen Technologies’ network billing module and will leverage its meter data management software to handle the advanced metering infrastructure.
The grid modernisation project is helping Western Power to digitise its operations under efforts to meet the evolving energy needs of their customers.
The MDM will enable Western Power to leverage real-time energy usage data to improve the management of its grid network, provide accurate billing and improve consumer energy efficiency.
The state-utility is also striving to ensure it provides a wide range of traditional and renewable energy sources to power modern lifestyles.
Andrew Smith, head of information and communication technology at Western Power, said: “Operating in an increasingly data-first environment, we were in need of a solution that could handle a higher degree of advanced metering and complex billing demands.
“With enhanced operational efficiency, reduced billing time and increased market dynamics, the latest upgrades to Western Power’s capabilities marks another milestone in this partnership.
